There was a time not all that long ago when minimalism was thought to be the single best thing in the world, but this trend has faded somewhat once all has been said and is now out of the way. You can see it in all of the vinyl banners that are out there, especially in the types of fonts that they use. The fonts that can be noticed on vinyl banners nowadays are highly different from what would have been commonplace about ten years prior to this point.
The reason behind this is that instead of sans serif fonts, these colorful banners are using serif fonts. Serif fonts are easier to read than might have been the case otherwise since they actually look like letters especially when you are seeing them from a distance. What’s more is that people have started associating minimalism with the rather bland and lifeless type of media that had become pervasive in the 2010s, and that is an image that you would most certainly not want associated with your brand because of the kind of damage it has the potential to cause.
Not everyone understands this but using serif fonts is all the rage right now. Indeed, we are witnessing a bit of a serif renaissance in terms of fonts and that is why you should jump on the bandwagon as well because you would definitely not want anyone at all trying to suggest that you are somehow out of place and that you don’t have what it takes to look into attracting attention through your vinyl banners. The quality of your banners matters a lot but so does the font after all.
